It's so exciting to see positive change happening in a community. Ludington is famous for its natural beauty, and is emerging as an artistic venue for a wonderful array of cultural events that take place throughout the year.

The Ludington Area Center for the Arts is really the hub of this growth. Housed in the historic downtown building that was once the United Methodist Church, it is the venue for speakers, concerts, writer's forums, theater presentations, and monthly films. A gift shop is now open, and future plans include dance and art studios. Generations to come will appreciate the efforts of today's residents for creating a place where literary, visual, and performing arts come alive.

Ludington's Waterfront Park is well known for its nine sculptures, which depict our maritime, farming, and lumbering heritage. It's so enjoyable to spend an hour or two at the park, admiring both the view and these marvelous sculptures. For an extra special treat, you might time your visit to coincide with an outdoor concert in the park.

The façades of many downtown businesses have become a kind of canvas for beautifully painted murals. Each one tells a story of historical significance to Ludington. Eleven of these murals are downtown, presenting an interesting walking tour to view each one and find the hidden object within the mural. Two additional murals are outside the city limits.

Our very own West Shore Community College presents the popular Performing Arts Series. Throughout the year, talented students and residents take the stage to perform dramas, musicals, and comedies. WSCC also has their own symphony orchestra and band, with concerts held during the spring and holiday seasons.

Throughout the year, many local fine art shows and craft fairs showcase some amazing talent, and our growing list of artists' galleries are always fun to browse. Because of our endless outdoor wonders, Ludington has become a destination for photographers and a venue for photo workshops.

Come enjoy the visual, musical, and performing arts in this beautiful place we call Ludington.
