Michigan's 1st West Coast Lighthouse Festival with events from Muskegon to Manistee

The Sable Points Lighthouse Keepers Association invites you to Michigan's 1st West Coast Lighthouse Festival, Saturday and Sunday, June 2 & 3. Activities are planned from Muskegon to Manistee, along 90-plus miles of Lake Michigan shoreline.

The event corresponds with the 145th anniversary of Big Sable Point Lighthouse in the Ludington State Park. Activities are focused at White River Light Station (Whitehall), Little Sable Point (Mears), Ludington North Breakwater and Big Sable Point (Ludington) and Manistee Pier Light.

The lighthouses will have extended hours throughout the weekend (10am-8pm) and various activities are planned.

Saturday, June 2
Bus Trip by the Shore, visits to four SPLKA lighthouses.
Bus Day at Big Sable Point, 10am-5pm, transportation for the 4 miles round-trip to the lighthouse from Ludington State Park.
"Maritime Magic" Arts & Crafts Fair, 10am-5pm, Ludington Area Center for the Arts.
Chalk-It-Up Art Contest in Pentwater and continuing to Little Sable Point Light.
Educational arts workshops, noon.
Lighthouse themed crafts for kids, Sandcastles Children's Museum, Ludington.
Muskegon Pier Light open, 1pm-5pm.
Free folk/bluegrass concert by The Other Brothers, 6pm, White River Light Station.

Sunday, June 3
White River Light by the Sea, Port City Princess-Muskegon.
Educational arts workshops, noon.
Historic Homes Tour, 1pm-5pm, Cartier Mansion, Ludington.
Manistee Pier Light, 1pm-4pm with Manistee Historical Museum.
Free folk/bluegrass concert by The Turnips, 6pm, White River Light Station.

Extended hours of festival operation, offering grounds tours, tower climbs and history at these lights: White River Light Station, Little Sable Point Lighthouse, Ludington North Breakwater Light and Big Sable Point Lighthouse.

Live music and entertainment all weekend.

What a great way to usher in the summer season and celebrate the beauty and history of our lighthouses. Great family fun awaits at the West Coast Lighthouse Festival.
